the raptors arent that fast & are one of the worst reliable four wheeler ever IMO..they are good for drag racing and thats about it...turning those things is scary b/c they are so tippy...you should ride one before you buy it & youll see what im saying ;)

Wel, as I've stated many times before, the 400ex will definitely handle better than the rappy. It does feel tall and narrow. But when I put wheel spacers on, it made a big difference. I've even raced it flat track, with 300ex shocks on the front... :o and it handled good. Yes, I've worried about having tranny problems and one-way bearing problems with my 01, buy so far all good. And yes, ASAP the Raptor will be gone for the YFZ. But I'll keep the LT forever. ;)

There is one embarrassing photo out there of a buddy pulling my Raptor with his 400 when my battery died... :o :rolleyes:

To each his own, but this is like comparing a dragster (raptor) to a BMW (400ex). Both are excellent in their own way, but which one can you really use and be reliable?:confused:

well i think i would go 400ex, because ive owned one and there super reliable handle great, tons of hop ups, and no major motor problems excpet there slow, the raptor is fast...worked

SO your saying that they are not that fast but only good for drag racing, explain to me how this makes any damm sense. Only the 01's had the tranny issues. And if you think it's scary to ride because it's tippy then you SUCK at riding! I owned a 400ex for 3 years but i would get a Raptor over a 400ex. 400ex got boring for me and i needed a something faster and the 400ex doesn't exactly have a low CG. Pipe, air box lid off, rejet, and you can get 10 more HP out of a Raptor and that's some serious HP gains. But i would choose one of the 450's over these 2.

400ex, i have never heard anybody complain about it not being reliable. thats most important imo. you cant ride if ur broke down or working on it all the time. the craptor is faster but who cares!:rolleyes: ed

A 400EX? Are you kidding me? They suck....They are horribly slow...A raptor will smoke one in a heartbeat...As for handling you are blowing it all out of proportion! They handle just fine especially for woods riding...All you people that said they handle bad are the little wussies that cant handle the power or weight of the rappy...Lift some weights

actually i thought it was only a 650? But still the engine is 60% larger then the 400 and another valve, but it doesnt even have close to 60% more power??
