how often do yalls 400ex rings go out? my '02 is starting to smoke? please help

the key is to change the oil often. also, some brands of oil will tend to burn a little easier. does it smoke on start-ups or when nailing it?

is it a blue smoke? i would first try changing brands of oil. i have had good luck with mobil 1 15w-50 synthetic. if that doesn't work, you may want to get your cylinder honed out and new rings.
