how much $?

i was wondering how much money would it cost for a port and bore job on my 400 i plan on makin it a 416 and i no i would buy the 300$ 416 kit from marcoms and want to do as cheap as possable but still do it right and i dont want to take it apart do port it after i ride it and it doesnt have the power i wanted

Its really according what kind of deal you can get on the port work and labor!!

Are you going to do everything except for the bore & port/polish work? If so, I'd say the parts will cost $275ish, a bore will range from $60-75, and a port/polish job will be $200-400. What Chad said is absolutely right: a $200 port job is like play porting, and the $400-400+ port job would be full on racing-type work, so it depends on what you want to do.

You could send the cylinder to me and i can get it bored for $45. i can also have the head ported for about $100. Its not a professional engine builder but he done mine and a few of my friends and he does a damned good job.

I havent got it put back together yet. I still need to get it powdercoated(waiting on a-arms and swingarm) then I will put it back together and post before and after pics!!
