i just bought my first 4-wheeler today and it is a 2001 400ex. it had a exhaust and has a jet kit on it. i need to know what the best exhaust is for sound and performance.

DUDE, there must be 4 zillion posts on 400ex exhausts, just go to the top of the page and type 400ex exhaust or 400ex pipe under the search key and you will have more posts to read than you ever would want to....

Yeah really just scroll done the page and search and you'll get like 20 pages of threads on it.

i just noticed that, thanks this is the first time i have been on this site so i didnt think to look first. i looked on here and didnt see anything about yoshimura pipes. thats what my friend has on his bike and he really likes it. is it any good for the 400ex?

the yosh pipes seem to be decent but if i was putting out my money i would get something else.

It depends on what kind of riding you are doing. For racing I like the sparks x-6 and the LRD big bore but these are more built engines. Dirtwheels did a shootout a while back and they liked the white bros and ct the best. I used to have a white bros back when mine was fairly stock it was a good pipe so thats is what I would reccomend the most.
