400EX vs 450R Rear Shock

I have an elka ssd rear shock in my 400ex, and want to put it in my 450R. Will this work? I'm waiting on houser to finish their LT swingarm, at which time I'll get a new setup from them, I just want something more effective while I'm waiting. Anybody tried this?

While it will probably bolt up fine, it will be a bit too long causing rear handling problems.

To get yourself by for now, have the stock rear setup for you - it's a quality shock with a 5/8" shaft, just like an aftermarket shock.

my 400 is in las vegas, i'm in so cal, thats why i cant just try the swap, i have to get the shock sent to me. I just thought I would see if others have tried this with success.
