IMS 4.3 gal tank question

I just bought a used IMS 4.3 gal tank for my 400ex and have been hearing it will not work with the stock steering stem. Is this true? I have the stock stem with factory 909 bars.

Yes it should work. I ran one with a stock steering stem and quad racer bend bars for over two years with no problems.

i ran into the same problem, but my was a aftermarket stem. the stock will clear the tank without any problems. But by chance if it doesn't, just add some spacers behind the steering bracket. .

It'll work with a stock stem. It won't work with a stock length anti vibe stem though.

Thanks for the replys everyone. I installed the tank tonight and it looks great and doesn't interfer with anything. :D
