I'm posting this to see what things people out there have that should be read/learned/looked at. In another thread I commented that I felt there was never enough time to try and find interesting things to read about and learn about. So this thread is started in the hopes that other people may like the idea, and want to contribute to it.. so that others can discover it in a sense as well; but most likely this thread will get jacked within 10 posts so it may be pointless but some good topics may come out of it :( . This is not about things like rock bands, or good movies, but about ideas/events/science/history. If you don't like intellectual topics, you should probably stay out of this thread and leave it for those that do, but don't spoil the thread :(

Great site on philosophy (http://www.importanceofphilosophy.com)

Atlas Shrugged-Ayn Rand. GREAT book, I'm reading it right now (http://www.importanceofphilosophy.com/Fiction_AtlasShrugged.htm)

Friedrich Nietzche (Niehilism) (http://plato.stanford.edu/entries/nietzsche/)

More Nietzsche (http://www.pitt.edu/~wbcurry/nietzsche.html)

"China's Bloody Century" (http://www.hawaii.edu/powerkills/NOTE2.HTM)

300 Proofs of God's Existence (Satire) (http://www.godlessgeeks.com/LINKS/GodProof.htm)

Hyspace- By Michio Kaku (Book on physics, very entertaining. Amazon description of book) (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0385477058/104-3157099-7695100?v=glance)

I'll keep adding things I find, these were just the only thing left from my bookmarks that got whiped out:(

If possible, links where you can go and find out a ton of things about a specific topic; like the Philosophy link I posted above.

Im not sure if this link is something that you would consider to be in this thread. The site is interesting to follow if nothing else.

I've already read the titor hoax;)Kind of crazy to read but every bit of physics he uses to explain how they supposedly made time travel work is false.

Here's some pretty good life philosophy I think is worth knowing:

Romans Chapter 1

20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: 21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. 22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools.

Pretty heavy stuff huh? Good book too.

I'm not going to bite on that one, but if kept at it.. I'll bite.

Edit: I lied, I refer to my sig as something also worth knowing. (The 2nd half more so than the first) especially seeing as how it is grounded in something that is true, with evidence to support it.

I agree, however we should know by now that all things eventually return to it.. moreover the lack of anyone with convictions in it to think about it logically, or think about looking at evidence. I've got some good new material, im up for religioso debate round #947,898,474,498,484.

sorry, i'm not :( faith is neither logical nor in need of physical evidence(in it's colloquial sense).

believe what you believe, if thats what you want.

i don't need to know the how or why, or for you to prove it, or for you to turn me.

(the use of the word "you" was in general terms, not particularly pertaining to any individual on this thread :))

Don't let me down by backing out wif dat kind of excuse.:( You know the point of any religous debate isn't to make them stop believing, but to make the point clear that it is completely without basis in reality, logically impossible, and rationally impossible as well. But after they realize this they can believe, doesn't bother me one bit.. just be aware that it makes no "sense" in any meaning of the word. But it doesn't matter, cause we know we are just too close minded to accept a world with an impossible omnipotent being, and just haven't discovered him yet.

sorry, been there...done that.

have found that one cannot have a rational discussion with those whose sole defense to their arguement, is faith.

True, but its a slightly non painful way of bashing your head against a wall.. its just a fun 1 sided debate. I'm a fan of debate... I dunno what's wrong with me lol, it's almost a masochistic tendency of mine to not give up an arguement that is so obvious to me..:(

i too have always been a fan of debate.the banality of rehashing certain topics that always end in "prove this...no you disprove it" becomes particularly unexciting to me now :(

True. But you are 19years older than me, and I guess you just lost the vigor/desire to argue in futile debates... I'm sure I'll be tired of it to at some point:)
