I bought a tc 426 motor to use till my stroker motor is done. I was gonna change the plug before I put the motor in and saw mine had a diffrent plug in it than stock. I think it was a DPR8EAS. About the only diffrence was the lower part of the spark plug was shorter.

Are you supposed to use these plugs with his motors or did the guy i bought the motor from just through it in there for some reason?

what compression is it running? i remember looking at motors on ebay and one had a 13:1 compression piston and it had to use a special plug so it wouldnt hit the piston. this may be the case for yours

Its a 12.5 :1 , maybe thats the case. I didnt want to put a stock plug back in and run the piston in it or something.

As you know man, I have a fully built TC 426 motor as listed in my sig, and at 12:1 compression it uses the stock plug (DPR8G I believe). I can't imagine that motor is any higher than 12:1 so stock should be fine. I know tom usually builds most of his 426 kits with 11.5:1 compression (Thats what mine was and I added a different piston later) so more than likely that is what that motor is. Do you know, or is there any way you could find out the compression?

Well, I see you answered my question before I was done posting... Maybe the .5 higher that is than mine makes a difference. I would stick to what he had in there. If you want to be super sure you could call tom carlson and see what he reccomends at the number below...

This has a heavy duty rod so he probly wasnt to worried about going higher with the compression.

Thanks for his number, i'll call him to make sure.

Have you had your bike dynoed yet? All our motor mods are pretty similar.

I have about $1400 in it. I bought it cause i was tired of not riding, and i figured i would buy something that has some balls.

I would just give Tom a call to double check. He has always been more then willing to help me out and explain things so I understand.
