I let a buddy of mine ride my 450R this weekend and he went over on it trying to wheelie. I noticed right away that the grab bar had bent. I went over countless times on my EX and it never bent. Is anyone else having trouble with theirs or did I get the shaft on a weak grab bar?

everyone got the shaft on the weak grab bar...id ratrher have a replaceablke grab bar go then have a subframe go...i suggest you bu yan aftermarket grab bar...they bolt wasily on unlike the 400ex's which was not removable which is why i think it was made so strong

Having it bend is better than bending the sub frame. PRM, makes a nice replacement for the 450R.

Pro-Tect has one that looks like PRM desert bar but like twice as thick. i have one and it is sweet.

My little brother broke his grab bar off twice. The 450r has a really weak grab bar.

the grab bar is as light as a potato chip and half as strong as one!

like a few others have posted, i rather the grab bar bend then the alum subframe. anytime you dump a 350lb quad on a piece of alum it has a chance of bending. ive snapped a few stock steel ones and some after market ones. just make your friend buy a new one.

Yeah...he's paying for it. I'm sure I'll be buying one myself someday.

yep, grab is defenitly weak. mine did the same thing, but i really don't even care bc that is what it is for and it didn't bend very bad and still looks ok.
