i was wondering what pipe is better, a sparks x-6 or hmf. i want it to sound good. i probably wont do much else to the fourwheeler except maybe a new piston down the road.

The X-6 is a damn near unbeatable exhaust for the 400ex. If you are gonna keep the motor basically stock except for just a piston, you might have better success with the X-4. The difference is that the X-4 has a smaller diameter head pipe (still bigger than stock) that works better on the stock type motors. The X-6 has a larger headpipe to accomodate increased exhaust volume from a built motor like mine, so you would lose a little bottom end if you ran it on a stocker. The X-6 still rocks on a stock motor, but if you are gonna keep it stock, you might want to go with the X-4 or an HMF. I love the X-6 and would never use anything else, but then again I dont have many stock parts left in my motor...

yeah the x-6 is a sweet pipe, i love mine. but like he said if your not doing many engine mods the x-4 would be a good choice or hmf.

I've got a X-6 on a stock motor and a 465 Stroker. Great performance BUT I'm not happy with the header pipe. I have cracked 2 header pipes.

Not that Im aware of but maybe... That would be one big *** head pipe, the X-6 is pretty huge. The HMF doesnt use the reverse cone style silencer though so I dont know...

I was in the same boat a few months ago but ended up making the decision to go with HMF's Ballance Pro Series full system, solely because a quiet core is available for it.

I don't think you can go wrong with either one...Talk about a tough decision! :eek2: :D

that hmf header is huge from what i hear. i would say it would be equivalent to the x-6. i have been told that it may even be bigger. i really dont know.

The reverse megaphone is supposed to create alot of midrange power from what I understand...

A reverse megephone creates a lot of power on the mid and top. An exhaust without the reverse megaphone makes a ton of power on the low end.
