has anyone ever seen a quad with I-beams on it on? if you have, can you post a pic cause i have to see it. im not going to do it to my quad or anything but this idea came across my head. you could get so much more travel out of that than a arms. just one of my crazy thoughts.

maybe i can shead a little light on the situation here.....i think what he is talking about (i-beams) is on the front of older ford trucks (pre '98 rangers, explorers f-1's etc). it is essentially a really big a-arm that has a constant camber change due to the fact that the spindle is attached directly to the beam and there is no ball joint there. they are very popular with the prerunner scene because one can get huge suspension travel numbers out of them. ive seem over 21in out of them.

theres a few pictures of them. if you have anymore questions feel free to ask.

to answer your question, no ive never seen that done nor do i have a pic. i have seen golf carts with them though, people do that a lot.

thank you for explaining to these people about what a i beam. i thought people have heard of them. isnt anyone in here into trucks like me. im not talking about some 4x4 thing, im talking about pre runners and trophy trucks. i live in sothern california and down her huge 4x4's are not that kool. its all about pre runners. i guess this is a $ity post sence no one knows what an i beamis. and yes, those are i beams on that web site that kicken250x put up.

i saw a banshee on here once that had somethin like that on it. it was a long long time ago tho..back when i had first joined the site a couple years back actually. i have no idea how we'd ever find that picture again but i have been thinkin about it a lot latley and i wish i could dig up that old thread but its probably been deleted. i remember it was some crazy set up for desert racing tho.

actually fords TTB suspension does use ball joints both on bottom and top of the spindle, how else would you steer, but the camber is at a fixed position it is only adjustable and changes with the suspension articulating

No that just a single a-arm suspesion a TTB suspension is a single beam for each wheel and it pivots on the opposite side of the machine unlike the a-arms

here's a good picture of how it's setup you can see how the pivot point is on the opposite side of the vehicle just imagine it at a smaller scale such as a quad same differance, the is a pretty popular setup among the pre-runners you can get quite abit of suspension travel outta these babies
