I am so used to riding with a thumb throttle, I can harly ride my freinds z400 with a twist throttle. But I can get on a M/C and do just fine, go figure.

I rode a twist throttle quad once... landing jumps I was nose high every time, and generally out of control... hated it. I think you have much better control on an mx track with a thumb throttle. ;) Flat track I think would be better with a twist.

My 300ex was the first quad I've owned, and it came with a twist throttle, took a little time to get used to but I like it better then thumb throttles.

Twist all the way. People who say twist is bad on a quad, have little to no experience using them on a quad. Once you get used to the twist, you will NEVER go back to a thumb. Twist all the way baby!!!

I have ridden both types and prefer thumb throttles, just because I think I have more control of the bike....especially on jumps.;)

Just a question though, why don't quads come stock with twist throttles......?....we sure wouldn't put a thumb throttle on a bike right, lol?:D Just wondered that as I was typing this.

I have never had a problem with either, I didnt have a problem with my Blaster that had a twist but everything else I have ever owned had thumb.

Twist is way more natural to me.. I can jump better with the twist and keep my speed more consistant. I actually do better over whoop sections with the twist too. I've rode motorcycles most of my life though..

what happens off a jump wouldnt you rev it so bad when you land. i woudnt know becasue i never rode anything with a twist throttle. thumb throttles dont really bother me so ill have to say thumb throttles are btter

In fact I jump better with a twist throttle I tend to blip the throttle better on launch and catch more air.

When learning with a twist throttle if you land harder than anticipated you can accidently give it more throttle and potentially wheelie over where with a thumb throttle you tend to let go of the throttle and about go over the bars.. At least that's been my experience.
