i have a 300ex that is in great shape whit lots of work done to it i just cant seem to get the price im looking to sell it for so i think im going to build it into a full out race bike i know a 300ex wil never be a "full" out race bike but im going to build one mean 300ex.
the only thinga lest to do realy is a rear end with shock, im not sure what to put on for that i want to spend most of my money on the motor and not so much the rear end but it has to be able to jump good. i just what to here what u guys think i should do and where i should get it from.
also i am going to get the motor all done out not dure if i should do a 330 kit or bigger looking at the pro fab 385 kit which is new. i would like to know what most people are running and what u think i should do.
i just want to have a fast rideably 300ex that will eat up 400ex's and maybe piped 400ex's
also want to know if a 400ex carb would be good for the bike after it is built up? and i need a new rear axle. whixh is better ???? dualblue or lonestar

sorry for it being so long just want to get the best stuff for my honda
thanks ed

for a rear shock every one says a 01 raptor shock with a 400ex or 250r sping on it. for axles stay away from durabreak and go with lonestar. if u dont have a aftermarket bearing carrier u should pick on up 2. i have a RAD-mfg an couldint be happier.

for motor work im getting a gt thunder 350 kit soon. get some pics of your quad or racing pics. i had a nasty crash last nite in my race but i still got first overal:devil:

Rear end...

Burgard +2 swingarm, Lonestar axle, Lonestar bearing carrier, Raptor rear shock, and a good set of chain/sprockets...

Engine...

Contact GT Thunder or Curtis Sparks, they do good chit for a 300ex..

Carburator...

Check out the Mikuni Flatslide..

BTW..if your doing the whole rear end..look into a Wave rotor and a braided brake line..

I believe the 400ex spring is for lighter riders? I have a raptor spring and I weigh about 175 or 180.

Just make it a little stiffer for the +2 swingarm..

GThunder is the way to go, ask laz. about the 350 big bore in my bike, it flies, seems really reliable too.

i like a plus 1 swingy my self, and the raptor spring should be ok for you if your 150 lbs. the 400 spring is for really light ridders like me, at 130 lbs.

also, i have the 400ex carb, no probs so far

i had a lonsestar carrier in my old 300 and it was fine but the rad is good too.

WEll I just have a home built job LOL, but I just started running the 400 carb & LOVE IT!! Haven't had any issues so far it compliments the porting or vise versa ;) I was keeping up w/ piped 400's this weekend :blah:

any other ideas???

will a .080 over pisten, port and polish, a 400ex carb and a web cam make any difference just to keep the cost down or will a 330/50 kit blow that away? also will i notice a different with the .080 over and other stuff?
thanks ed
