hello folks
i just purchased a 2004 honda 400ex. love it.
question i have is, i removed the airbox lid. what a difference in power. i've been avoiding the water. even though it runs great , am i harming the motor. it does'nt semm to be running lean.

you have to rejet, if you remove the lid.

If you just bought it then Im SURE that you will be getting at least a slip on exhaust and a new filter... You will need to re jet it then, and despite how it seems to be running, it is running lean now. Taking the airbox lid off makes a huge difference in the fuel/air ratio. That bike needs a slip on exhaust and filter as soon as possible, then you will really like your bike. That is the step one mod for that bike and makes a significant difference!!!
