Jammed Decompressor

Has this happened to anyone and did it damage anything? It says in the book to rock the timing bolt on the crank back and forth to unjam it but it does not mention possible damage.

well i know if you run like a hotcams cam it doesnt use the decompressor but thats about all i know about that...anyone wanna help this guy out

I don't know if my starter will turn over my setup that good. It is 11.2:1 89mm piston, and I don't have a choke:( I am using an HRC cam so I would hate to fudge it up.
