coming out of a corner they were nice. however, too much speed up top was lost so i quickly changed.

It depends what size tires you are running... I have found that there is no use for a 14 tooth sprocket with 18" mx tires on. It absolutely shrinks the powerband and KILLS all the top end. It IS advantageous when running 20" tires in the rear I have found. The top end hit is less noticeable and I found it especially useful for hillclimbing and woods riding in general. When I run the 14 tooth up front (I have 2 tire/rim/gearing setups, one for woods, one for MX), I usually run a 37t instead of a 38t in the rear to help the top end out a little bit. 14/37 with 20" rears works great for me. For MX I run 15 or 16 up front with a 36 or 37 out back. Hope this helps...

14 is good with 22 inch rear tires and that's about it. It's not bad with 20's if your in tight woods and in an area with hills. With my motor I can run the 14 tooth with 20 rears and never use 1st gear all day.

14 tooth with 18 rears sucks major ***... as TC426 already mentioned..

14 tooth works great in the sand, untill you get a lot of mods. then is is back up to the 15. I am not quite there yet.

14 tooth just sucks on a 400ex. Stay with the stock gearing. I have a 416 and it likes the stock gearing best.

Expect to lose top end when you gear down the front. Thats what happens lol.

I have stock tires and couldn't tell any diff on acceleration. Will the stock 400 lug in the sand with the 15 and should I leave the 14 on?

take them both, you wont know until you try it.

gekos+dry sand + 14= LOTS of wheel spin. i couldnt go anywhere. i switched to 15, and i would have went to 16 if i had it with me. when i got my haulers, the 14 worked pretty good, the sand was also wetter

15/40, 8 paddle haulers, bye bye 450r and yfz. Sheerider thats the only good thing about banshees is they go fast in a straight line, but I think we all know how to go in a straight line fast, its those turns and jumps banshees should work on.
