Picked up a 450r for myself and a 250ex for the wife yesterday. Have yet to ride either because of work, but sat. is gonna be a dirty day. I thought I read a thread about ajusting the throttle cable on the R. when it is new. What ajustments should be made? Is there a little slop in it or what?

Yes, you will most likely have to adjust the throttle cable, mine was not adjusted right therefore it would not reach full throttle. You might check the fluids to make sure that there topped off and I would also remove the bolts from the heat sheild on the header, put locktite on them and then put them back in. Many people on here have lost them due the vibration making them fall out.

my handlebars were loose, the bolts that hold the handlebar bracket to the stem was loose, i too lost a heat shroud bolt off exhaust, my transmission fluid was low. i think thats it.

you need to hit the throttle while not running and see if you hear the carb hit the stop. if it does you are ok. is this what you mean lukester?
