WTF is up with all these smart *** replies lately, some ppl dont know as much as you. You dont have to be a jerk off to them. Nobody was born a mechanic so before you make a smart remark you should think back to when YOU were the one askin questions.

sam the brave: Dont keep it on wide open throttle for long periods of time during break in. And dont just let it sit and idle until your ready to break it in. I just wouldnt go physco on it during the first 2 or 3 tanks of gas, just dont baby it like the manual says. Just start out puttin around till it warms up then vary the throttle from low to upper mid rpms, and dont lug it. and CHANGE THE OIL!!!These links should help...

Just ride it like it's a harly(just cruise on it) for the first 2 or 3 days. Then, the real fun begins!

You guys shouldn't act like @$$ holes all the time. I didn't know how to break in a 4-wheeler either until I got my 400ex about half a year ago. My dad taught me. It is my first 4-wheeler that is just for me. My other 2 were for me and my bro and he did all the riding and having fun.:(

Just don't keep 'er wide open for long periods of times. Also, when you are slowing down, don't use the brakes as much, downshift and let the motor help slow you down:)

everyone has their own idea of how to break an engine in, from just idleing it for a few hours, to running the piss out of it.

I read in an hot rod magazine that they said when you go to break in an engine, they said to run it like you were going to drive it. They did a comparison on 2 of the same cars(yes I also know that if you have to of the same cars they still are alittle different on performance side) but anyway, when they did the comparison they ran one they way the manual said to do it, the other one they just peeled wheel right out of the parking lot, they alos said that they didn't beat it all the time but they said if your hard on it at the beginning it will help seal the rings alot better. When these cars got up to about 40k miles the one that was broke in from the manual was 1 sec slower in the 1/4 mile. THe reason was they said that they didn't have real good ring seal. The other one did. Hopefully I can find the article and post it up so you can read it.
