I have a few questions about the JE 416 kit with a high compression piston and Hot Cams. My first question is the kit really worth it or will i notce any power gains? Can i use stcok exhaust (where i live it is ilegal to have an aftermarket exhaust)? Is it reliable? And will i hafta run a higher octane gas? Thanks alot

i just orderd mine, it came today im puting it in next monday ill let ya now

im using je piston kit, stage II hotcam and runnin stock exhaust
itll be hard to jett with the stock exhaust but i think itll still work

10.8:1 is the highest compression recomended for 93 octane gas

Yes!!! it is definetly worth it. My 416 pulls way harder than stock. I recomend getting a good full exhaust system first. But you can run it with stock exhaust, your just not geting all the power out of it without the pipe. I run 11:1 compresion with 100 octain gas, but ive heard if you keep the compresion lower you can run pump gas. My friend has the same set up as me and he mixes half and half race/pump gas, seems to be fine, Im just to lazy!
You never mentioned where you live, but we just try to go places were its not inforced, noise and spark arrestors that is.

The difference between stock and 416 is like night and day. Definately worth every penny. You'll want to run a higher octane gas but 93 should be fine.

i have a 416 but no cam the compressoin is supposed to be 11:1 but youll prolly only get around 10:? i was told as long as you dont go over 11:1 you can run premuim pump gas which i swhat i run in mine and it works great

i actually just sent my stainless steel x-6 pipe to that company to get coated. i will see how it turns out. also, i had my new piston that i am getting coated by whoever C&D had do it. i am not too sure.

where did this individual get that 11:1 piston from? just kind of wondering if it is a regular xr400/400ex piston or if it was one made specifically for the 400ex. also, i didn't think je's came in 11:1 416's but only 10.8:1. however, that could be ross i am thinking of. does he run any race gas with it?

JE and ROSS are both 10.8:1, the only piston they offer at 11:1 is either the 426 or the 440, i think the 440 is a little over 11:1 biut cant remember

now Weisco offers there 416 piston in 11:1 an thats the piston i have, but theres some myths on what there actuall compression is.

yeah, thats what i was thinking. he could be running a 10.8:1 with thinner gaskets or he could be running a piston specifically designed for the 400ex and cut at a true 11:1.
