I have a set of triple rate elkas on my 400ex. I have +3 arms. I was just wondering if they would bolt up to the 450. I would hate to have to spend all the money over again. Thanks for your help

nope, they wont bolt on, you will need to sell them and buy new elkas.

yeah, i know it sucks. the 450r shocks are longer, so when you put the 400ex shocks on it, it sets it down to low.

Couldnt you get them rebuilt with a bigger shaft? It would be hella lot less expensive.

i have no idea, im sure if you got a bigger shaft, then you wpuld need new springs also.

You might want to contact Elka and see if they can do anything for you. It still might cheaper to sell your shocks and order new ones. I'd call them first.

whoa, whoa, whoa!
the shocks can be put on the 450. i know because i guy i race with took his peps off the front of his 400ex and put them on his 450 and they are perfect! and also he said that the axles would too. and the a-arms i mean i would same that it wouldn't hurt to try. but the shocks will because i have seen proof.

they will bolt up but wont be valved correctly

I know the axle won't work,it's to narrow between the sprocket hub and brake hub. Shocks will bolt up but won't be valved or sprung correctly. The quad will likely set way to tall.

A friend of mine took his Custom Axis off of his XC 400EX and put them on his 450R. It sat about the same height as stock, but the same shocks made the 400EX sit about 2" lowers than stock.
