this was left for robs racing at atvsource.

Sorry its taken me so long to get back on here, the shop has been out of control lately. I have tested several quads so far. Every quad with a Sparks, TC or LRD pipe has FAILED ! They were around 114 DB. I tested a YFZ, CRF, 400EX and a YZF 426 with those pipes and they all FAILED. I tested a 426 with my pipe it was 103 db. I tested a 400ex with my pipe it was 98 db. I tested a 400ex with a Big Gun it was 100 db. Even our Kasea was kinda close with my pipe it was 103 db. Our shifter quad with KX70 engine was a quiet 96 db. I have found that the meter will surprise you. Some quads i thought would pass with ease didnt.

muff
06-12-2004, 01:34 PM
was he testing all of those at 2,000 rpm? I had borrowed a friends analog tester and at 1/4 throttle my sparks x6 on my 400ex only read at 96-98 :D of course when i punched the throttle it jumped passed 104 with ease.

i'll be there, #47 4 stroke b and open b, i'm heading up sunday morning

if you see this thing feel free to stop by and say hi

NTPRacing#19
06-12-2004, 06:29 PM
i think its also how you roll on the throttle. if you go nice and easy to 2000 i think you have a better chance, but once you crack the throttle its gonna show high readings

NTPRacing#19
06-12-2004, 06:30 PM
oh another thing, most people think 2000 rpm is 1/4 throttle. its not, its pretty much just off idle.

ramp rida 55
06-12-2004, 07:14 PM
well i dont have anything to worry about im running stock z400 silencer with fmf powerbomb header and punched out end cap. its so quiet im not used to it:cool:

my day was alright..I placed 8th in the 4 stroke b, moto1. The second moto i think i was 10th. I had a good start and the second corner when into the bush on the outside..had to make up time from there..But altogether i had an awsome time, and loved every bit of it.

Joe all our prayers are with you on a speedy recovery!

i had a good day too racing 4 stroke novice. 3rd in moto one. in the second moto i spun like hell off the line and when i hit the dirt she went rigt up inot a wheelie. i kept shifting and rode it out and finshed 9th after coming from dead last.

that track is def. a sweet track.

:o i had a bad weekend ..my quad was so messed up..my first moto in the 91-300 class...it stalled on my on the holeshot..then i was stupid and jumped sucide hill tryin to pass these 5 pple...and i almost fell off ..but i made it..then my last lap this kid in front of me slammed on his brakes..and my chain fell off and went threw the case..so i got a DNF..then right after gettin the chain fixed..i had to hurry to race the womens open..my chain then locked up..twice durin that moto..makin me dead last..and then the best thing happend..my timin chain bolts..broke off inside..makin the cam worn..which it already was cuz my dad put my brothers old hot cam..that was worn..instead of my new one..so that made me miss my LCQ and my 2nd moto for the womens..so there goes my 2nd in the points for the womens class:o but ya win some ya lose some i guess

i hope joe gets better real soon

the funny thing is-the first race this year (southwick) was eldon's first time racing the bike, and the first time riding it with all the walsh/elka parts and he still got 1st in both classes! since then he's only sped up!

I'm excited to see what happens towards the end of the year.

Congrats eldon, you deserve all the trophies you get :macho

I didn't even look, i know i wasn't even in the top 10. I was in the top 5 in the first moto until i flattened a rim and blew a side wall on a front tire. I finished the moto on a flat. Got 12th or something. I ended up borrowing a set of Stock YFZ tires, it was pretty sketchy turning compared to my razars. I lost all my confidence with the tires. But i was still glad to race. Got to thank MXChamp82 for the tires.

Wheres everyone riding this weekend?
