Hey i bought a 2002 400ex about a cupple weeks ago and rode it about 4 times for about 4 hours each time and havnt changed the oil yet, checked it and it was fine, but not yet changed it. It had been starting really hard, when you give it throttle it dies and you have to let it idle forever but sometimes it all of a sudden revs.. But i took it riding today and it smoked alot, i mean like a damn chimney and i was riding with a cupple honda mechanics and they said to changed the oil and get a new spark plug and drain all the gas and just start over. And they said if it still smokes a ring is broke... any ideas if that could be it???? And i was hitting some decent jumps yesterday and after one of them i hit my breaks and they acted funny and they started weakening so i got off and as i pushed the break oil fluid sprayed out onto my exhaust right where it goes into the rear break but about a 10 milimeter bolt. its all out now and doesnt work, how about that??????? any help is appreciated:macho

I MEANT BRAKES... haha:huh

Sounds like you need to park that thing. Spend about 20 hours of preventative maint. on it and check everything over.

Sounds like it was rode hard and put away wet...:o

Yeah, when i get back from montana i am draining the gas, getting a new spark plug, draining the oil, new honda Hp4 oil, cleaning the air filer, checking over and tightening all the bolts.. oh well, whatever will prevent future big problems.
