I've never had a brand new bike so I am not sure of the break-in method. What should I do with my 450R, what oil, when to change oil, what oil to use after break-in? Thanks.

alot of people will tell u not to run it full throttle... but i break in all my bikes the same way.. run it like u would any other time so it gets used to the tolerences and breaks in right check this out

I agree with YFZRider. Run the bike like you are going to ride it but just try to not stay wide open throttle for extended periods of time.

change the oil quickly too b/c it only holds almost a quart so it gets nasty quickly ;) esoecially during the break in but I havent seen any metal particlen on my oil or oil filter...are they usually smaller then the eye can see?

What oil should I use after break in, brand? weight?

Oh, also, should I change the oil after the my first ride (which will be about 5hrs, or should I change it after 10-15hrs?

I would run nothing but Honda oils because they design the bike to work the best with their fluids. Also after 10 hours or 2 full tanks of gas I would change the oil.

I run the HP4 20w50 in the engine and the 80w85 (Red bottle says 2 stroke tranny oil) in the transmission.

i changed my first oil & oil filter after the first tank of gas & then changed the oil & oil filter again after another 2 tanks of gas & will remain on a pattern of every 4 tanks of gas now...I would run the honda GN4 oil & get your oil filters in bulk off ebay b/c the stealerships will rape you in the butt & not use lube if you buy that stuff from them

how many CC's of tranny, and motor oil does this hold?

woul dbe good to know, to get an exact measurement.....and not over fill it.

i used to use a ratio rite when changing oil on the CRF450

this week i'll have my 450R......cant wait:p
