View Full Version : how to polish some parts

i no that this may have been brought up awhile ago,but i got some questions to ask...i want to try and polish my brakehub and lock nut and my rear hubs,they are the lonestar billet ones....what would be good to polish them with?since it is billet just a polishing wheel or w/e that is and some good polish?thanks for anyone that is going to help me out here...veyr much appreciated

if they are bare and nice and smooth...take a polishing wheel to them with some compounds....but if not sand them....then do it...or send them to me lol..:p

i used a bench grinder with a couple buffing wheels and a some stuff called coulumbian white rouge compound. also after you buff put the parts in some warm soapy water cause there is a black residue that gets on the part and if you use a bench grinder like i did the black stuff gets all over the place. then after your all done and have it where you want it use mothers billet polish on it, it brings out the shine pretty good...

i think they turned out pretty well, if you want a picture of those shocks completely finished or some other things i polished let me know...later

if the parts are billet and already smooth and somewhat polished...just go out and buy some mothers billet and rub them pretty good with it on a nice clean rag...if there not smooth, sand down with some fine grit sand paper until its perfectly smooth (you'll know when its smooth enough) then go at it with a buffin wheel and some tripoli to get all the sand scratches out of it...then hit it with a loose buffing wheel and some white rouge to finish the job up...blang!
