Looking for tips on how to fix a cracked header pipe. I've got a Sparks X-6 that is cracked where the 2 header pipes come together. A freind of mine mentioned using JB Weld. Is there any special way to do this?

My powerbong did that and I had it welded. Don't know if JB would work or not but I guess it's worth a try..

You'd be better off taking it to a welding shop. My past experience with JB Weld hasn't been the greatest. It's really only good for a temporary fix. A local welder will be cheap and it will hold much better.

300exOH has the right idea, JB is more of a quick fix. It wouldn't take a welder 2 min to fix a crack in a header pipe.

Have someone with a MIG weilder weild it back together, it will work fine.

I think you mean TIG. The header is Stainless steel. A TIG weld will be a much cleaner weld on stainless. Wire feed(MIG) aint the best for welding stainless but it will work in a pinch, with the right wire and cover gas and a steady hand.

Well I used the JB weld for a quick fix for the weekend and it worked great. I'll see how long it last. I've got a backup pipe.
