It is still serious despite your difficulty in taking it that way.

With regards to insurance;

It would be a good idea, however rates are quite high, and if the Icon had carried comp insurance for this ATV from the start he would have paid enough to buy another ATV right now (8 years at around $500 per year).

It would just be a trade off.

The lack of insurance doesn't lessen the crime.

Regard to Pappy's comment;

This ATV was locked up quite well. There was no chain, but there shouldn't have to be. The "short story" on this crime is that it was an "inside job", and someone who didn't have a lot of inside knowledge would not have been able to steal this ATV.

Thanks for the comment however, as locking it up is a damn good idea.

The Icon and the police already know who stole the ATV, however since the police haven't broken him yet, he's roaming free. The Icon is more concerned with recovering his ATV at this point.

It may be located in the Rochester, NY area.

Neither would the Icon. The Icon didn't mean it would take 8 years to buy an ATV, the Icon's example was that $500 in insurance for the 8 years that he owned his 300ex would equal $4,000 - or, around the purchase price of another ATV.

Going rates for Comp Insurance around here are $450-500 per year (terribly high!).

Redrider69,

The Icon knows exactly who stole his ATV (he had help, but the Icon knows who the person responsible is). The reason why the Icon doesn't take it into his own hands is because then the Icon would go to jail.

The police told the Icon that they strictly forbid taking it into his own hands. The Icon is doing EVERYTHING that he can to get his ATV back, however the criminal who stole it did so only in the name of "revenge", and does not have the ATV.

This criminal's sole purpose was revenge- not owning an ATV. This person has been a problem for the Icon and his entire family for far too long. There is a good chance that if he is caught for this he will end up where he belongs: in jail, getting ***** rammed.

Hope that answers your question.

Wow, that's a really good rate. The Icon will have to look into rates, since it's been a couple years.....

The Icon usually pays a little bit more because the Icon carries at least $500,000/$1,000,000 insurance, instead of the usual $25,000/$50,000. Still, perhaps there are better rates than what the Icon is getting.

Why would you want to start a pool to "see if The Icon ever went to one of those big-time wrestling camps?"

Why would the Icon have gone to a "big-time wrestling camp"?

What the heck is a "big-time wrestling camp" anyway?

Just wondering, since you brought it up.....

If you must know, it's been a few years since the Icon was in high school, and the Icon was never on the wrestling team. Probably would have done well, but it was never something that the Icon was interested in.

The Icon has no idea what this has to do with ATV's, or specificly to the subject of this thread, but since you were so interested, the Icon thought it would be nice to give you some insight.

What you have stated, as quoted above, make absolutely no sense. You know who stole the quad, and you have had issues with this person(s) before. Ok. You called the cops "5" seconds after seeing the quad was gone. If the police knew who stole the quad but waited then why did they wait? Why did you allow them to prolong the situation? If they police knew who the suspect was and they did not take action, I would file a complaint on the police department or police officers.

Maybe this didn't read correctly.

The ATV was stolen on a Monday night, along with the truck. There is so much machinery and vehicles around that we sometimes don't notice if something is missing, so the truck wasn't noticed missing until Tuesday afternoon.

It took a few minutes to ask around and see if anyone knew where the truck was, and while asking around, the Rochester Police Department called and said that they found the truck on Flint St. in Rochester, NY.

The truck had the keys in it, and wasn't damaged. It was only stolen in order to remove the ATV from the property.

About 30 minutes later the Icon decided to check the building where his 300ex is locked up. As soon as the Icon saw the door opened he ran to the phone and called the cops. This was around 5 PM on Tuesday.

So the Icon called the cops as soon as the Icon KNEW that it was missing.

This was an "inside job", and based on where the truck was found (in the city), along with the other evidence (tire marks, easy break in, and path that the theives took) there is only 1 person who could have stolen it (with some help).

The cops also know EXACTLY who stole it, but since there was no hard evidence (video camera or an admission of guilt), they say that there is NOTHING that they can do. The cops went over to the theifs residence twice, but he lied to them.

It's hard to believe that there is NOTHING they can do, especially since this person is a repeat offender (not only against the Icon, but against lots of people), has numerous arrests, and has the motive and opportunity to do this.

It was an act of "revenge" by a Psycho, and it's all this persons life revolves around. The Icon believes that he only wanted to steal the ATV. Not for money, or to have an ATV, but just so that the Icon didn't have it.

But the cops say that they can not do anything about it....

The Icon is going to talk to another cop tomorrow. He is a neighbor of the Icon's and maybe he can come up with something.....

Anyways, thanks guys for the interest, and hope the 300ex shows up!!!

Bob,

If you can't afford at least liability insurance on your ATV then you can not afford to own an ATV.

When you run over a small child who wandered onto the trail, how are you going to pay for it?

It could happen.... and if you aren't covered then your life could be turned upside down.

In the Icon's opinion, you can't afford NOT to have insurance.

The Official Thinker has already completed the Anger Management Course as mandated by the First Judicial District Court a year ago, as well as complied with all other terms of the Agreement. Furthermore, since those records were expunged per the Agreement, any and all prior criminal charges are inadmissible in these proceedings. :blah:

It's appreciated!

No, the Icon is not lying.

The Icon does not lie as it serves no purpose.
