This is the result of a 250miles ride with bashed axle bearings. The swing arm was hot as hell :eek2: The hand-brake cable has even start to melt on the swing arm. Check this out..

Btw, this is not my quad, its my friend's quad :) He knew that the bearings were about to break on the next weeks/months but he didnt change it before the ride. I didnt talk to him since that ride, do you think the axle will be damaged too ? And the swing arm? I hope its only the carrier.

How could he ride 250 miles with the berings like that. When I blew out my axel berings, they got me about half a mile, then I decided to have it towed to a nearby friends house. When they finaly went it stalled the motor, and I didn't wanna hurt anything more. Busted axel berings are not fun:(

i think he's gonna have a lot of trouble trying to tighten the chain...that carriers prolly welded to the swingarm

Yes, if the swingarm and carrier got hot enough, the temper of the aluminum could have been affected.

Was there an actual fire in the carrier, or did the thing just end up smoking? If there was a fire, then the strength of the carrier has most likely been lessened.
