No you don't. Just put the pics on a picture hosting site, and click image in the toolbar when posting to insert the URL of the pic. It's that easy!

r450rr. You could take a sharpie and marke the shock body so it is lined up with the yellow mark on the preload nuts, and count how many times the mark goes around. I left about two threads showing on the front and about four threads on the rear. The only adjustments I make now is on the compression. I leave the preload at my current settings and just adjust the compression settings from track to track when needed.

very nice. i like it. i see you went the same route as me and did not get piggy backs for the front. all the other front elkas i see have piggy backs. i had a little trouble finding a place to mount my rear resovior. its all good now. i just want to tell you like the way you have yours set up and i like the black a arms. they are sharp.

where are the grips at? could you not afford grips after the long travel on the front!!! LOL!

Thanks Bro,

As far as them elka rezi's dont your knee hit the rezi by the tank?
I had my Z rezi there and after every race I would have a 3" bruise on the side of my knee. I put my rezi in the front with no problems.

Shocks were 300 to convert included all parts and labor. So it didnt cost me anything since I sold the stockers for that.

Hey Snowgasm,

I have a new rear swingarm with linkage. This is the Chit. I am running a fully adujustable rear Axis. Check it out it is on www. holzracingproducts.com. I did the same with my Axis up front. Mark at holz put new shafts and re-did the valving and changed the mounts. It was like $350 bucks but well worth the savings.. Nice R.

Your link does not work but I will check it out.I heard that the custom axis is not rebound adjustable due to there will not be enough stroke cause they have the rebound on the bottom of the shaft.Whats yours like?

Better motion ratio for the rear linkage. Better leverage point. Joe Byrd is running this on his bike and the word is in the heavy chop and whoops the rear end is not try to pack up and kill you every bump. (He really likes this set-up) I bought the entire set-up and it was a night and day difference in performance in jumping, heavy whoops, etc. Plus you can run a 11" axis, or elka shock. More travel, more adjustments. It is well worth the money. You will see the main difference it is a complete linkage, unlike elka and some other guys. He has tons of testing on this suspension. Check Byrds bike at the next race if you are close.

do you need to buy the swingarm inorder to run the linkage...???
how much do they run for???

that is the one thing with elka i will be able to run my stock swing arm for while till i get enough cash to get an aftermarket swing arm...

quadjeff
06-08-2004, 04:27 PM
Yes you have to run his linkage with his swingarm. $1,200 swingarm and linkage. It is kinda of expensive but worth every dime. It is very close to my Leager R suspension (CR 500) linkage. Save you dollars, you will be stoked once you have it.
