I ordered a Durablue Eliminator +2+2 axle today, and was wondering if I need to buy an aftermarket axle lock nut, or will the stocker with some lock tight work???

It should work. How well is up for debate, many have had trouble keeping it tight after loosening it. Some wrap it with electrical tape to keep it tight.

I have had it off twice on my stock axle, and a little red bottle lock tite holds it just fine. I was just making sure it would work, or if I should spend the extra $50 on a durablue lock not as well.

Nick, I ran a RAD locknut I got from C&D on my old Durablue and it worked just fine. I think it was like $50 shipped for me.:)

I would personally get a new one! But put some lock-tite on there and then duct tape it and it will be fine...

The stock locknut is TRASH. If you are gonna get a good axle, you should spring for a good locknut. If not now, then sometime soon. I also run the RAD nut and it uses a simple pinchbolt system that has eliminated MANY headaches from my life.... No more pipe wrenches, poles, and an 800lb. gorilla cranking on it like you need for the stocker. Plus it looks way cleaner and heavy duty and is NOT that expensive at all....

I agree, I had a RAD on my 400ex and I liked it...

My question is, is an anti-fade lock nut worth the extra cash? What exactly does it do that makes it so much more money? Just have the rotor hub?
