i have a question....i have a stock 400ex and i drilled about 8 5/8" holes in the airbox lid and cut out the baffling in the exhaust cap (from where the S.A. screen is attatched to...i dont think it sounds that great but oh well its already off..anyways do i need to rejet the carb? what main should i go with? 155 or somethin? how much does an individual jet cost? i think buying a whole kit for $60 is ridicilous...anyways does cutting the baffle off do anything good? can it hurt anything? all of the internal baffling is intact... it got this weird "hollow" sound to it now...i dont know if i like it...can i do anything else to make it sound maybe better? (besides buying an aftermarket slip on) thanks for your replies...

Go to the deal and pick up a 150-152 mj. With no mods, and only holes in the airbox a 150 should be fine, but get the 152 just in case;)

a 148 is stock, so a 150 should be fine. If its to rich...the motor will bog down...not putting out full power. Do a plug test when you install the 150 to see where you are at.
