Well i have a lrd full exhaust system and a k&n on it right now. I have a 125 main in it right now and i have the needle clip at the 4th position. Now i don't have the air lid of so thats why im running a 125. but i heard if i take of the lid i need to go all the way up to a 185! Thats what lrd told me to do, to do a 180-185 main. I asked them if i would need to change anything else and there like it should be fine. What do ya'll think. Help would be great!

I'm sorry if this doesn't help much, as I don't have a 450R, but a 125 seems to be a bit on the lean side. Do you know what the stock jetting is?

180-190 is about right it should be some where in there. I have a stock 450r with the hrc kit installed and I am running a 185 main. The end of this week I am getting the stage one kit from lrd and i am planning on going to a 190 main. Hope this helps you.

I think your lean yet,
You barely increased with a 125 keep going up until it sputters and then back down 1 jet size.

Yea I thought 125 seemed pretty lean.

Snowgasm, what state do you live in? I see that you're from Hudson...but I don't think you're from the one I'm thinking of.

if i were u i wouldn't b/c u don't need to take ur lid off.i put a 180 main and took my lid off and used the wrong filter oil and mines in the shop now waitin for me to come up with 800 to replace cylinder, crank, pistions rings and other crap i fried b/c my igorance.trust me it's fast enough now just be happy and if u really just have to die for the power just buy the hrc kit comes with a modded lid with the jet and anew intake and all,

If you run no lid, you will need to increase your main jet to a minimum of 185, and that is with the stock pipe with baffle removed. If you have an aftermarket pipe a 190 will probably be better. I would highly suggest getting a jet kit DynoJet Kit (http://www.magicracing.com/mySearchResult.cfm?CFID=897147&CFTOKEN=36290064&productID=1921&display=detail&categoryID=143&name=Dyno%2DJet&filterFor=450r). I would try the stock needle in the 3rd clip position with the 185 and see how that works first.

So im guessing the stock needle and the HRC needle arent that different in design??? I thought the big jump in mains (118 to a 185) in the HRC kit was because of the different needle. Its just wierd to hear people not jetting any different depending on which needle they have.

Im running a 190 main, HRC needle with the HRC kit and no air box lid. Sea level, its been around 55 degrees lately

Laz from GT Thunder told me that the HRC needle is the key to getting the bike jetted perfect. He claims that you will never get it perfect with the stock needle.

snowgasm where can you get a HRC needle from?

You need to go up 10 or 15 sizes on the pilot jet.

I went with a 52 pilot (48 is stock)
4th clip on the needle from top
190 main jet

Alll good

Are you talking to me?

White bros E2 I had to go with a quieter exhuast because D-23 has sound tests and you cant race if your over 96db.

Really? I never saw any testing being done at the Grantsburg track...and there were a lot of loud exhausts there. Anyone know what a Big Gun slip-on would be at?

My fault bro
should have been more descriptive.

I race D-23 cross country and they test quads and bikes the limit is 96db.

WI which is D-16 does not test which is bull for us but they are trying to preserve the locations that we have races at. I respect that but 96 is almost impossible it seems to hit and GNCC gets to go 104db.
