I just bought my 450R and wanted to get just the HRC cam but they said that the cam is not sold seperately from the kit, but they did say the CRF cam is basically the same thing so get that. I went with the CRF cam.........is that a mistake? Is anybody running that cam and how do you like it?

The HRC cam definately makes more power, but it's mostly on top.
The stage 1 hotcam has less lift than the CRF's with less duration ,giving more bottom end. The '03 CRF is a good all-around cam.
Specs:
LIFT DUR.
IN EX IN EX
02CRF .380 .356 249 272
03CRF .380 .336 249 262
HRC .394 .346 262 262
HC st1 .378 .315 237 268
HC st2 .398 .315 248 268

If anyone wants the 02 crf cam PM me a resonable offer and I will sell you mine,I tried the sparks cam and liked it a little better. It was in my quad for about 10 hours of use.

What difference do you notice between the CRF cam and the Sparks cam........and how big of a difference do you notice?

There is a good difference in the bottom end. I think the sparks cam is hard to beat.

What if I just dropped a tooth in the front......think it will pull the same as the sparks?
