I am researching buying a 440 kit for my 400ex and was woundering witch one was the most user freindly kit. also i have heard some people talking about the 440 arequiring additional oil cooling to keep the motor reliable. is this just a tank or a larger oil cooler or maybe both. just wanting to avoid costly mistakes when doing the kit. i appreciate any imput on this subject.:)

Mickey Dunlap's oil cooler design should work very well on a 400EX.

You may want to check out the thread "decking the cylinder" as there is some good information in there.

I run the IMS kit and use omf scoops to cool the oil and engine area . Been racing for 6 months runs sweet no problems Going to install a Cam hardened rockers and springs/guides to wake it up, Ther was a noticable change in HP but I know it has more so the cam should help
