Has anyone ever had to deal with a rusted fuel tank on one of their older dirtbikes or motorcycles? I bought a 78 Yami Special and the tank is pretty rusted. Finding a new tank is just as much an option, but I wanted to find out if anyone has had good experience with fuel tank liners?

If so, what brand did you use? I am looking at a Kreem repair kit, but it doesnt say if it will stick to the rough surface or not.

Any advice is appriciated.

ive never had a problem (never had a metal gas tank) but i know some guys will stick small rocks or b.b.'s in the tank and shake it for a long time, all the little bbs and rocks break off the rust and then its as good as new (or so i think:confused: )

I've done one before I just put rocks and small chains in the tank and filled it a little bit with kerosene and shook the sh*t outta it. Took some flushing but it came out okay~, I just put a fuel line filter on and left that one. But I want to put a liner in it so I was just seeking what works best.
