Rear 400ex and 250R shock set-up ?'s

Is the set up for a 400ex and a 250R interchangable?
Will I be able to get a 400 shock rebuilt and toss it in there w/o any problems? Has anyone done this, are there major suspension drawbacks? What is the story? Pros cons!

i asked this a while ago you can do a search for all your answers. i was told that you couldnt interchange the shocks i beleive its cause of the linkage
