39mm FCR or Edelbrock for a 425ex?

Is one better suited than the other for XC riding? Is there a cost difference? Thanks.

i really couldnt tell you which one is better then the other but i can tell you about the fcr ............. on my bike i have it all 440 cam high comp piston and ported head now my friend has a z400 which is pretty wicked to before i had the carb on we would run right next to each other in a drag race now with the carb i pull on him in first and 2nd gear by a quad length and a half then we stay the same from their on so you get alot more pull on the bottom end but u do not sacrafice any top end at all

I have the edelbrock and so far it has good power but it has problems. I would get the FCR. I like the edel brock but it took a while to get it runing right taking with edelbrock, however i will say they have great customer service. I think the edelbrock does have a bit more power then FCR. My friend has the FCR and it is alot simpaler and easier to fix, and never had a problem to begin with. Im not oging to replace my edelbrock but if i had to do it again it would be hard not to get the FCR if you just want to bolt it on and go,

I cant speak for the edelbrock, but I am running a FCR 39mm in my 426 motor (425 really just like yours) and it made a big difference in bottom end all the way through if you ask me. I was running a bored out stock carb w/the choke removed before I put it on and it is literally a night and day difference from that.... Edelbrocks are supposed to be real good, but I would get the FCR 39 or 41mm.

Im going against the crowd on this one. I run a edelbrock pumper on my 426, and it made a big difference. It is harder to dial in but when you get the right needle in the bike, its super easy to adjust, you dont have to worry about carrying mains around, you just use the supplied clicker and your good to go. Edlebrock IMO has the BEST customer service. Call and talk to Chris Silva. He is the best carb guy I know of, you can tell him all your mods to the bike, elevation, riding etc. and he can get you dead on over the phone.

Does either one have clearance problems under a IMS 4.3 gallon tank? Do you need to tilt them or anything?

My FCR just barely rubs my stock gas tank, I don't know about an IMS. I love the throttle response and power it gave my 400.
