This may be a stupid question, but bear with me...

Is there a fuel pump and filter on the 400 ex? And where would it be if so???

First of all, welcome to the site! :)

Always remember... there's no such thing as a stupid question. Now pardon me for a minute while I giggle uncontrollably... :D

Ok, all done. No fuel pump, just a carb. The filter is part of the shut-off valve in the fuel tank. I don't have a 400ex, so I'm assuming they have a strainer in there.

You know I was just kidding you, don't be afraid to ask anything on here. Lots of knowledgable people on here. ;)

Thanks Guys. Back to the drawing board. We think it might not be running because of the battery...

Here is the problem...My husband was going up a hill and when he got to the top it died out on him and would not start back up. Now it is making a clicking sound and is not firing (not turning over). Do any of you knowledgeable guys know what this could be? We changed the spark plugs, the air filter is dirty so we need to change that, could this be the battery? We just put a new battery in but we did not have a charger for it yet so could it be that it was not charged enough?

Thanks Guys

quadbeetch!!!

The clicking sound is the solenoid. Yes, the battery needs to be charged before you put it in. Time to buy a charger! ;)
