OK here goes I have gone to a large rear and front tires for ground clearance issues.... I have 14/38 = final drive of 2.71 (vs stock at 2.53) gearing which still leaves me feeling like top gear won't pull (when there is open space).
I am considering going to either of the following and wondered what others with larger than stock tires have done.
14/39 = 2.79
13/38 = 2.92
13/37 = 2.85
13/39 = 3.00
I know it is cheaper to change front sprocket and that they make a 12 :eek2: but it seems that the chain is almost rolling over on its self with the 14. Going to a 13 is cheaper but :confused: a new chain is not.....
and of course there is the issue of changing everything when i go to the beach... that I could fix with a taller rear paddle and I need one anyway :rolleyes: at least it seems like a good reason.....
Let me know what ya think.. Also wondering about number of plates to run in E series but that is my next post...
