I had problems doing the CRF450 cam chain in my 400ex and had my engine builder call several places, (like TC Racing, Sparks, Dunlap, and others) and they all said that the pitch is probably different and will cause problems. There has been reporting of knocking all the teeth off the lower crank gear from the pitch being wrong! I wanna get a tally of everyone who has done this mod and had problem or success. So everyone knows going in what their chance of success is.

Please choose and explain if it didn't work, what the problem was.

on mine the cam chain made a horrible knocking noise because two of the links broke and were flipping out and hitting the valve cover. The pitch must not be right or something because the chain was brand new when it was put in and less than 1min of turning it over the knocking started.
