why not bore stock carb rather than buy a larger one?

like the post says, isn't it cheaper to just bore your stock carb? or is reliability an issue. my uncle owns a machine shop so i'm sure i could have it done for free. i know nothing about this so dont flame :devil: what exactly gets bored? the part that attaches to the boot?

im pretty sure the part that goes threw is smoothed out and the pistion in the middle were the needle is gets bored..

Its actually a taper bore not a true bor. You will get better flow but not as good as the real thing.
