If your just getting into riding then a cannondale is not a good choice. They are for more expierenced riders and take alot of maintenence.

Look into a 400ex or a z400, they sound good for you;)

also, most all cannondale's have bad cranks. You will need to get an aftermarket one. The Big Winky cranks everyone has been using just went bad so you would need to pay $800 for a good one. Basically, cannondales are reliable but when you buy one, you don't know if you got one of the good ones or not. So far mine has been touble free (knock on wood) and i hope it stays that way.

400ex all the way. They got good power and handling, and there is thons of aftermarket stuff for them if the macine starts getting boring.

400EX's are pretty sweet, I got one last fall but now I'm looking for more power...so unfortunately I'm looking into selling it, either going to mod out my Banshee more (God I love that powerband) or get a 450R next year...I would stick with the 400EX, but it's not liquid cooled.

Go with a 400EX...great machine and will last you...just make sure if you get one, to take out the swingarm bolt and grease it up. Good luck.

Come one now, most have bad cranks? I don't think so. I think that many of the guys on the forums have had bad luck but I would guess over half if not closer to 75% of the dales out there have been fine. The 03s had alot of the bad cranks. Many of the 02s were good. But, anytime you run a crank at 11,000+ rpms they will wear out sooner.

basically the main 400's like the kfx, the z400, and th ex. the z and kfx are basically the same but i would go for the 400 ex all the way:devil:

Cannondales have bad cranks so if you deceide to get one of those i suggest you get a aftermarkey crank. 400Ex's are basically bullet-proof and I haven't had any problems with mine. If you want to race a quad that you don't want to put any mods onto you should get a Cannondale. 400EX's have insane handling and they also have pretty good power.

I would defenitly go with the 400EX because Cannondales break easy and are hard to ride in trails. :blah:
