webcam is by far the best in power but the hotcam is just more convenient with a wide range of power also as a drop in. Webcam need heavy springs and hardened rockers, you get what you pay for!:D

I run a web cam 479 grind and love it. Never rode any other cam but it did wake up my motor. Web Cam recommends hardened rockers but your stock springs are fine. (with the 479 grind)

Hot cams dosnt make a cam for a 300ex the only choice is a web cam. Unless you get a engine builders cam (ie TC, Sparks, ect.)

IVe used a hotcam before and it wasnt bad. When I got my motor built with the TC kit, it included a TC 924 grind MX cam and it makes the hotcam seem like it was stock!!!! TC makes some of the best cams out I would say and so does sparks. Just like buying an exhaust, for racing you really cant beat TC or sparks. For MX there is absolutely no one better to me. If I was you, I would call tom carlson at TC and get one of his cams for your 300. I know he has done alot of work with some 300's and could probably set you up. My equal choice would be sparks like I said... As for between the hotcam and the web, the web is where its at from everyone that I have ever talked to. Like someone posted earlier, I dont think hotcam makes a 300ex camshaft either....

I would go with the TC. I dont think there is that much of a price difference. I dont remember what I paid for mine since I got it in a motor kit from him. I would call tom carlson and get a price from him. Tell him you want the 924 mx grind cam and you will NOT be disappointed at all. Youll want to add a high compression piston with it at least as well to get the benefits of the cam. Youll want to do that with any cam you add. It also would be very beneficial to get a hi rev CDI. You can get a race cam all you want but if your bike is restricted in the upper RPM range and has a weak ignition curve (as the stock 400ex does) you wont reap the full potential of the mods. Basically a cam, high compression piston and hi rev CDI are best when installed at the same time. If you cant afford the rev box I would definitely get the cam and piston together. Also, make sure youre not throwing all this in the motor and then running a stock exhaust on it, but Im sure you already know that....

has anyone compared the sparks and tc cams together? you are referring to drop in cams correct? i am looking for a good drag racing cam with a 11:1 426 and i am not sure what to get. i have a stage 2 right now.
