Do you have it or a loved one?

I can only hope and pray that a family member close to me or myself will never have ANY type of cancer.

I have a good friend that had skin cancer about 8 years ago. Couple small spots, one on the nose, another on the ear. They cut them out, and he hasn't had any problems since. He used to spend a lot of time in the sun... ran baseball camps and scouted for a couple of colleges. Although we all like to get a tan, laying in the sun without sun tan lotion on is just asking fro trouble some day...

One of my friends just got diagnosed with skin cancer....man, he's hoping they can nip this in the butt before it becomes anything more.

It was one of those checkup type deals....then the doc comes back talking about skin cancer....my friend about swallowed his heart.:( We think he'll be alright though.

Cancer sucks period. My Uncle died of skin cancer when I was a little dude. The graph will be more noticeable in different areas. After a while though it will start to look better. Depending on how big it is you might have to do some sort of therapy for you skin to grow (for lack of better words) correctly.

Hope all is well for you.

we have some of the best doctors these days and technology where we can get rid of the health problems very well......when you have a problem go to the specialist becasue they have done the same thing over and over again a million times and know what they are doing....but good luck to your sister on her surgery......and i rember getting surgery....the worst part was the time before the surgery but right after it its fine they give u some pain killers and u feel so weird that you dont even feel anything...

Whats the youngest you can get skin cancer and what can you get it from.. because im only 17 and i think i might have it but maybe im just kidding myself. When i asked someone about it they told me not to worry about it..."its not cancer." thats what they said but ya never know.:o

yeh i think u can get it at any age. When i was about 10 i had a mole on my chest and the doc said it could be skin cancer. Well they removed it and the results were pretty bad. It was one step away from melanoma so i guess u can get it at any age. thing is i really dont go tanning or anything. sure i work outside but i dont tan or anyhting. just wear sunscreen.

Well, she had it done. Didn't get to speak to her on the phone yet, was just told she's in alot of pain. Hopefully it doesn't come back.

Btw, thanks to the people who replied. Sounds like most of the outcomes are positive.

Yes, if caught early, skin cancer is almost always 100% cureable. Much easier to get rid of than internal cancers.
I hope all is well for your sister.

As long as she keeps on the pain meds, and out of the sun she should be ok from what she told me. Right now she's on crutches n shat, can't do much of anything.

Glad to hear she's ok. Cancer in any form is scary. :( Sun tanners pay attention! ;)
