I want to run racing fuel in in my 440 that has 11/1 compression. I can't find it anywhere. The 2 gas stations in my area, that I know of that sell it, don't get it until the end of april. The closest place is over an hour away. So I was wondering if you could help me out by telling me how much it is to order it in the drums. I went to 76 racing.com and it said they sell it in 16 and 55 gallon drums but they didn't have any prices. Or if you know of any other place i could order racing fuel from and prices.

Umm don't regular prop air planes use high octane fuel? I remember somone talking about that but that should work and you probably have a small little air port somewhere for like prop planes and stuff. and this site should have some info too http://vpracingfuels.com/

Yeah, try an airport. I think plane fuel is like 110-115 octane

k i will probably get some dirty remarks but i would not run AV gas(airport gas) in anything but an airplane. AV gas contains antifreeze chemicals and is made to run in relatively low RPM engines that only see about 3500 RPMs. I personally feel AV gas should be left for Airplanes only.

I have wondered about this too. I did a quick search and this turned up. I hope it helps.

There is a nice Sunoco station near where i live that sells 100 octane gas. They call it racing fuel. I haven't tried it yet. I 'm gonna bring 5 gallons of it to HAT/McC.

how much for a gallon knighttime?
I didnt like how that link also left out the most piston aircraft are low rpm machines and contain antifreeze components.

hey Taco...

I don't doubt for one bit what your saying. It really makes sense....airplanes fly at high altitude....higher elevation=colder air....

I just thought i would throw that in there to add onto what you said. Thats all.

There has got to be a petroleum distributor nearby. That is where gas stations & others can purchase all types of fuel in bulk. Have you tried any of them? That is where I buy race fuel. I also know that a couple of powersports dealerships sell race fuel, too. Good luck.

76's gas is called "Trick" and we have the place that sells it right here in Medford. It runs about $4 a gallon, so I would supect it will run around that mark back there.

This sucks... I still can't find any. I will probably order some from 76 racing. I have one last place i haven't looked yet. My dad has a friend that races a corr pro-2 truck and one of those buggies in the series. They might have some that I can bum off of them.

Thanks for the suggestions

I run trick, and i think that its 110..They make a 112 also. Are there different colors in race fuel?

If there's someone local that has an engine dyno, they probably have some "good" gas. As long as it's kept cool and no light gets to it, it will stay fresh for quite a while. (No see thru plastic containers - if you can see the gas level inside store it in something else)

Race gases are dyed all different colors. No particular rhyme or reason. Within a brand they are colored differently to tell the types or grades apart.

The gas I will be running is yeller. Its Vp c12. I used to run Vp Red with my 416. Tom said he reccomends me running c14 but I cant find any place to get it. The place thats sales VP here said I would have to order a 55 gallon drum to get it:( C14 is purple!!

Trick is purple too...what compression is the 505 going to be chad?

avgas is 100LL; thats means 100 octane, low lead. not use jet fuel, its very similar to kerosene.

I will be running a 12.5:1 compression. Thats not really high enough to need like 112(i think thats what it is) octane but Tom said it is better to run because the octane will help the motor run cooler!

I run c12 now & it is blue. I don't know that color really matters, but make sure you get the right stuff.
