View Full Version : ignition holder/ plastic?

does anyone know where I can get a ignition holder/key holder.. I want to take off the handlebar plastic on my 97 300ex and get some Renthal bars, and I had read that you can buy a mount for the ignition so I can get rid of the gaudy plastic??

Aurite man, heres the hook up you've been looking for, go down to your local Honda dealer and order a - 87' 250X Ignition holder, it should be around 15 buks, this part is awesome, it mounts right up to a 300EX, fits perfect, looks great, and relocates ur key switch, its great for when u get aftermarket handlebars like Renthals here are some pics of this mod-

what bend bars are those. i want bars from renthal, but dont know either to get the atv race band or the honda bend. i dont know if the race bend will fit on my bike with the holder and im not sure how cumfy they will be. they feel odd.

I have the atv race bend and I like them. They feel alot better then stock if you ask me.

i called my local Honda Dealer and nothing, they couldn't find a 87 ignition key holder.. they said they only have it for 91' but that is no longer available..?? I wonder if it is just my local dealer.

your shop stinks if it can't come up with an OEM part like that one.......................

where do live? I'll consider getting one from here and sending it to you.

thanks.. but I got them to get one.. I had to call anothe dealer and get the part #.. then they were like o.k. we can get it.. nothing like jerkin' me around.. I do appreciate the offer though...

how do you mount it? Where do those bolts/screws affix thmselves... with the aftermarket renthals?

you use the two bolts that mounted that mounted your stock plastic peice. then the rest of it clips into place, it works good

dude, the little steel bushings and the rubber o-rings from your stock cover also fit inside the new cover and makes it fit tighter. Also, you can use your gas vent tube.

Anyone got the exact honda part number for that 250EX ignition holder? Is there any other hardware or plastic needed or can you use existing hardware?

you might have a hard time getting the OEM from your local dealer but they can get it I swear.. the part # is..
61302-HCO-003ZA.. 87 250x ignition holder.. it is a tight piece of plastic.. it mounts with your existing bolts for your OEM plastic handle bar cover.. good luck

It only covers the clamp area, so I would think it should fit just about anything as far as bars go.
