Is it that hard to learn how to woods race a 2-stroke coming from a 400ex?

any tips to help?

It shouldn't be hard at all. Just 2-strokes make most of their power up top (top end).


Just get used to riding a 2-stroke and you will be fine. Unless you wanna buy a Powervalve for your 2-stroke. It will make power on bottom and top end. More like a 4-stroke.

i went from a 300ex to a blaster. by the end of my first ride, i had a good hang of it and did pretty good, by the end of the week, it wasnt even something i thought about, just have to keep it revved up a little higher and use the clutch to stay on the pipe

I had a 400ex. Then I bought a 250r that was set up for woods.I had it for less than week when i raced in a mid south and got 5th in quad c. Its not to hard, just get use to pulling in on the clutch reving when going through tight woods and turns. The hardest part is trying to go up long hills and clutching and not flipping over.
