You could get a stocker send it to the quad shop and get a 250r grab bar installed and gusset it up.It would be a lot cheaper then a new after market one.

K_Fulk....you can gusset the subframe? I haven't heard of anyone doing that before?...just the frame.

Would you be able to tell me approximately where the gussets go on the sub? Thanks for any info.:)

You could do it like in the picture, or you can weld in a tube between the lower and upper tube to help support it.

My buddy made a couple of subframes out of 4130 and they turned out real nice. So far I have about a year and a half on it and no problems.

i still need the sub an i wanna get an aftermarket, i dont know what i did to bend this sucker but its bent. used a level and its off a good bit. ive never rolled it hard, ive had some rought landings on some jumps but nothing to make me think that i could bend my frame, plus the chrome would look sweet

If you stand at the back of the 99-12 ones the grab bar will lean to the Battery side. It looks like the weight of the battery is pulling the frame down. Some how the subframe from Honda was bent new. Good quility control. Maybe the new ones have been corrected, have not checked any newer 400's. So, maybe you didn't crash after all. Just that you never noticed it before.

I would check out the JB Racing over the LSR!

Jody Bateman(JB Racing) makes a sub frame with or without the battery box for the 400. His website is not up yet but his number is 814-922-3523 give him a call. I believe he has a setup that can relocate the battery.
