Thats nice 69mph is good enough for me, as long as i can beat a '04 Rincon. Thanx

rincons are very fast for utilitys but dont handle very well but handle alot better than the tippy grizzly which handles like the craptor :blah:

You all are out of your minds if you think that a 400EX will go 69 mph stock. A Banshee is only good for about 72-possibly 80 stock. A 250R, stock, will go around 65-70.

I'll admit, I don't know the facts about a 450R.

The day after I got my 400EX there was a "pit bike" race at the local 1/8 mile track. It was dead nuts stock and ran 9.90 @ 67.35 mph. I think with a little more break in time it would go 68+mph. :devil:

I don't know, I think 69mph might be a possibility. I think we clocked my girlfriend's at 64.

Many people don't realize the difference between 74 and 69mph. You know that car that passes you on the freeway like you're standing still? It's only doing about 10mph faster than you. When you go flying past somebody, it seems like you are going a LOT faster than they are. You might blow past a 400EX like it's nothing, and in reality you are only going about 5-10mph faster.

being as top speed is one of my pet peeves (sp) i feel a need to reply to this. for starteds following a bike with a car is not a very effective way to get the top speed. please dont even mention that. to the best of my knowledge here are top speeds on dirt, and since there labled as off highway velicles i think thats appropriate.

400ex 62-65
300ex 53-57
250R 66-69
450R 69-72
banshee 70-73
warrior 57-60
yfz 450 1,000,000-1,000,000,003
quadzilla 76-79
80cc bike probly around 45

those are top speeds to the best of my knowledge i am sure some are off by a few mph here or there. a yfz might not actually be able to go that fast but those are all very close.

your yfz results are WRONG...my friends does 1,000,068 with his GPS

sorry for being off on the 80cc bikes i have never owned an 80cc, i just threw 45 out there figuring it was an MX bike and geared low. i do know they move...also if you have an 80 you probly dont weigh a whole lot and i didnt think of the fact that a 20 pound kid on a 40 pound bike is going to be pretty fast....

Nope dude, yours will go quite a bit more then that. My friends stock 92 kx80 went 63, and my friends cr80 that had some stuff done to it;) , it went 72:eek2: or more, i cant remember

It really doesn't matter on a MX track anyway...its more about acceleration How many times does a rider get his/her bike up to top speed in a straight? Possibly tapped in 3rd/4th? I would imagine never in 5th/6th.

This isn't for the records or anything, but on pavement with stock bald tires my 400ex went 77 mph. No joke. My dad followed behind me in his Ford Explorer and he said I went about 77. I bought the 400 used so the only "power" mods that I know of are: K&N Air Filter w/Outerwears w/lid, Pro Circuit T-4 Slip On, and 155 Main Dyno Jet. There might be more, but that's all that's in it according to the guy I bought it from. It might be slow or it might be fast to you but I don't lie and that's what it is.
