Hi, yesterday my chain broke in 2, my rear sprocket had 4 tooth less, and my front sprocket had the teeths like waves. SO, im changing them this week :D , I already have the chain, what I need are the sprockets, im going with Renthal Ultralite, are they durable for sand riding?
and the last thing, will a 14 tooth front sprocket be better for me?, I don't do any drag races so I don't care too much about top speed. For what I know a smaller front sprocket will give me more acceleration and torque, but How Much?

Plz somebody with a 14 tooth FP tell me his experiences...

Thank You :)

I am making a trip to the dunes here in OK in 3 wks. I am gonna buy a renthal 14 to help my stock motor out. It will give alot of acceleration, from what i hear. If you lube your chain, you need to degrease it and lube it with WD-40 so the sand wont stick to your chain. Your stuff will hold up fine like that.

:) Thanks for the chain info ;)
I'm waiting for more plz..
There's another option, how about a Vortex Rear Sprocket? Are they better than the Renthal?

I would stay away from aluminum sprockets they just dont hold up.

mmm.. I only have a "stock" 400EX, I guess the sprockets wouldn't suffer as they will on your BEAST with a 460 Engine :D

i will never buy an alumnium sprocket whats the point steel is cheaper and lasts 10 times longer and its not like your gonna save much weight

I like stock gearing, its good overall and I would go with any steel sprockets, they are all about the same.

Aluminum sprockets wonthold up on a 300ex.

I have had good luck with sprocket specialists and sunstar sprockets.

i have a 14 tooth front, for the money it's great. ALOT better riding in the woods!

i have a 14t sproket from sproket specialist and its holding up great, both front and rear. u are going to loose around 5mph with the 14tooth on top end but in my opinion the acceleration gain is worth it.

Give C&D a call. I got my chain and sprockets through them. Their price was better than I could find in any local shop, and they had steel Rocket Sprockets in stock, they shipped the same day I placed my order, and they were much cheaper than Renthal.

Sand eats aluminum sprockets.

i have ran an aluminum 36 tooth renthal rear for a year. it actually is holding up better than my renthal front (considering the front is smaller however it isn't aluminum. now, i don't ride my bike in sand and isn't in water or mud hardly at all. it looks brand new and i would get it again for the riding conditions i encounter.
