sounds like the lock nut is loose (big nut on the right side of the axle, right after the brake rotor)
get two big pipe wrenches or adjustable wrenches_
there is a ring on the axle, hold the inner nut and turn the outer nut downwards until this ring is completly covered.
put some loctite between the two nuts if you have it
next, pull the bigger (inner nut) up, until it meets with the outer nut
now, hold the big nut in place, and pull up on the little nut, if your a small guy, get one of your big friends to do this, it needs to be TIGHT. once its tight, i go around it a few times with good ole duct tape.

if you do this and the nut is tight as possible, you need new rear axle bearings. just post and i'll give you a step by step on it, i just got done ding it, so its fresh in my mind

i agree, tighten the axle nut, if that doesnt work the bearings are toast so get your 40 bucks ready for some new ones.

keep tightening it! i'm a small guy, and its REALLY hard for me to get it tight by myself, try adding some leverage like putting a long piece of pipe on the end of your pipe wrench or something

thanks How long has it been since you have changed the axle carrier bearings?Bradley is right it is difficult to tighten the axle by yourself, but if has been along time since you replaced the bearings my guess is now it's time.

well said
also try to push the axle in and out from one side to listen for bearing movement.

If you can't tighten it any more than it is you axle bearings. How long has it been since you last replaced them?Unless you have taken your axle out recently and forgot to put something back in there is know other reason for it to wiggle except for the bearings to be worn out.How excactly did you check the bearings to know they are good?Unless you removed the axle and turned the bearings in the carrier by hand then you have know way to know they are still good.
